Flagship Waterways

What is a 'Flagship Waterway'?

Flagship projects are large scale rehabilitation projects in major waterways across Victoria. Through Water for Victoria the health of 36 waterways across the state will be improved over the next 30 years through these large-scale, long term Flagship projects.

The Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (CMA) are leading the Living Moorabool and Barwon Flagship Projects, working in partnership with Traditional Owners and the local community.

The main objectives of these two projects are to improve native vegetation and habitat within and alongside the river; provide water for the environment to maintain water quality and improve habitat for fish and platypus; to improve and maintain the waterway for cultural values; and to enhance the community's connection to the river through improved engagement, awareness and sustainable use.
