At the Corangamite Catchment Management Authority we have a strong emphasis on integrated catchment management – partnership with local government, water corporations, and traditional owners are all in important to protecting our environment and our waterways.
The Corangamite Catchment Partnership is a collaboration between the CMA, Water Authorities, Traditional Owners Groups, Local Governments, Government Agencies and other NRM bodies. The purpose of the partnership is to strengthen coordination, collaboration and accountability, reduce duplication, and provide clarity on roles and responsibilities between catchment management partners by working together on significant regional challenges and opportunities with the aim of generating tangible, positive impacts on the prosperity of the region.
Traditional Owner Partnerships
Aboriginal people have been managing land and waters across the Corangamite CMA region for thousands of generations. Aboriginal people developed an innate relationship for their environment, which continues with each new generation today.
