Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (CMA) and Melbourne Water are proud to host the Native Nursery Expo, the first in a series of events designed to bring together and celebrate the native nursery sector.
Supported by funding from the State Government’s Victorian Landcare Program, this free Geelong event will connect nursery staff and volunteers, share knowledge, and strengthen collaboration across the region.
"Native nurseries play a vital role in restoring landscapes and supporting biodiversity. This event is about celebrating their contribution and creating stronger connections across the sector," said Kylie McLaren, Corangamite CMA Regional Landcare Coordinator.
Program highlights include a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony by Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation, a panel discussion and presentations from leading nursery professionals including the founder of Otway Greening Indigenous Nursery Mike Robinson-Koss, Beth Ross from Bellarine Landcare Group Indigenous Plant Nursery, and Arabella Imhoff from Southern Otway Landcare Network.
There will be hands-on outdoor activities for the kids including a Nature Bus by Nurture in Nature Australia’s Tania Moloney and a mistletoe demonstration with Alan Carter.
The day will be facilitated by Geoff Brown from Tangent Consulting, with light catering provided.
