What: Join Hobsons Bay Wetlands Centre on a guided walk to immerse yourself in nature and learn about the incredible work of the Hobsons Bay Wetlands Centre volunteers. Discover the beauty of Hobsons Bay's incredible wetland areas, woodland, grassland and saltmarsh environments. Cruise along at a leisurely pace to view a huge range of birds at the Laverton Spit and climb to the top of 100 steps of Federation in Truganina Park and take in the expanse of the Ramsar listed Cheetham wetlands.
The walk will be led by Kevin Wood, one of Australia’s foremost authorities on avifauna conservation in Port Phillip Bay. Kevin has had a long professional career in coastal, wetland and waterway management and as you walk along will be able to provide you with expert knowledge on the birds that use the wetlands and the surrounding environment.

Catering: Tea, coffee, fruit and lunch provided.

Additional Information: Please be aware that this activity will be physical and will require walking over some uneven ground. The walk will take approximately 2 -3 hrs.
We recommend you wear sturdy closed toed shoes suitable for hiking or exercise.
Bring with you; binoculars, camera, hat, drinking water, snacks and sunscreen.

NOTE: If the weather becomes unfavourable or if Extreme or Catastrophic Fire Danger Ratings are declared, the event will be postponed and the participants will be notified as soon as possible.
