Pay Dirt

Getting the most out of your fertilizer investment

PayDirt is a workshop series that supports grazing farmers to learn about soils, pastures, grazing methods and management strategies to increase return on investment for pasture systems. The aim is to equip farmers with the knowledge and tools to make informed fertiliser decisions, increasing pasture growth and protecting the environment.

Workshops cover appreciating and understanding the relative value of investing in fertiliser or lime in relation to altering the method of grazing and / or improving pasture species. Soil tests are undertaken by the farmers who are then stepped through interpreting their soil test results and determining what are the soil constraints and what steps are required to address them. There is a focus on a whole farm approach, identifying which paddocks to focus resources on and creating long and short-term plans.
