Marine Safety Act 2010 Section 211(1)(b)

NOTICE CONTROLLING NAVIGATION IN THE VICINITY OF WORKS
The Notice of Boating Activity Exclusion Zone published in the Victoria Government Gazette
No. S 425 on Friday 31 July 2026 is revoked and replaced by the following notice.

Corangamite Catchment Management Authority, as the declared waterway manager for the waters of the Barwon River upstream of the Local Port of Barwon Heads to the Lower Breakwater makes the following notice under section 211(1)(b)(i) of the Marine Safety Act 2010 (the Act).

For the purposes of the works activity proposed by Barwon Water for the removal of Deviation Road Pipe Suspension Bridge in Highton, the navigation and movement of vessels is permitted.

Waters of Barwon River – approximately 50 m upstream and downstream of the former Deviation Road Suspension Bridge, Highton. At approximate GPS location 38°08'38.3"S, 144°19'02.2"E.

This notice has effect from Thursday 13 August 2026.

Marine Safety Act 2010 Section 211(1)(b)

NOTICE CONTROLLING NAVIGATION IN THE VICINITY OF WORKS
The Notice of Boating Activity Exclusion Zone published in the Victoria Government Gazette No. S 551 on 20 December 2019 is revoked and replaced by the following notice.
 
Corangamite Catchment Management Authority, as the declared waterway manager for the waters of the Barwon River upstream of the Local Port of Barwon Heads to the Lower Breakwater makes the following notice under section 211(1)(b)(i) of the Marine Safety Act 2010 (Vic) (the Act).
 
For the purposes of the works activity proposed by Barwon Water for the demolition of the Ovoid Sewer Aqueduct, the navigation and movement of vessels is prohibited from the detailed below, excluding vessels involved in the works.
 
Waters of Barwon River – Upstream and downstream of Goat Island, Breakwater, within 100 meters of stationed buoy lines and river closed buoys at approximate locations:
 
Upstream 38°11'37.0"S 144°22'16.9"E
Downstream 38°11'35.2"S 144°22'29.4"E
 
This notice has effect from 7:00am Monday 19 October 2026 – 5:00pm Monday 31 May 2027.

Marine Safety Act 2010 Section 211(1)(b)

Corangamite Catchment Management Authority, as the declared waterway manager for the waters of the Barwon River between the Lower Breakwater and Orana Road makes the following notice under section 211(1)(b)(i) of the Marine Safety Act 2010 (Vic) (the Act).

For the purposes of the works activity proposed by Barwon Region Water Corporation for Safety maintenance works of the John M Macintyre Bridge, the navigation and movement of vessels is prohibited from the waters of Barwon River as detailed in Table 1 below, excluding vessels involved in the works.

This notice has effect from 8:30am Friday 21 August to 9:00am Monday 28 September 2026

Marine Safety Act 2010 Section 208(2)

NOTICE OF BOATING ACTIVITY EXCLUSION ZONE 

Corangamite Catchment Management Authority as the declared waterway manager for the Barwon River between the Lower Breakwater and Orana Road hereby gives notice under section 208(2) of the Marine Safety Act 2010 (Vic) that all persons and vessels not registered to take part in the 2026 Battle on the Barwon Dragon Boat Regatta are prohibited from entering and remaining in the following waters. 

Waters of Barwon River – from the 600-metre mark of the Barwon River Rowing Mile to approximately 200 metres upstream of the West Fyans Park Boat Ramp 

The exclusion zone will be in effect from 9.00am to 4.30pm on Sunday 13 September 2026

Marine Safety Act 2010 Section 208(2)

NOTICE OF BOATING ACTIVITY EXCLUSION ZONE 

Corangamite Catchment Management Authority as the declared waterway manager for Barwon River between the Lower Breakwater and Orana Road hereby gives notice under section 208(2) of the Marine Safety Act 2010 (Vic) that all persons and vessels not registered to take part in the Rowing Victoria 2026 Head of the Barwon Regatta are prohibited from entering and remaining in the following waters. 

Waters of Barwon River – from Queens Park Road Bridge to Moorabool Street Bridge. 

The exclusion zone will be in effect from 9:00am to 3:00pm on Saturday 3 October 2026.
