The Community Environment Grants Program is an allocation of $1M from the Wild Otways Initiative, and will support local governments, Traditional Owners and volunteer groups to deliver on-ground environment projects to protect and restore native plants, wildlife, and coastal environments. A total of $1 million is available over the life of the program, with individual grants of between $5,000 to $50,000 per year (ex GST) for up to 2 years duration being available to eligible groups.
Applications for the grant program are now closed.

Part 1. Significance of flows in the Barwon River and lower Moorabool River.
Analyse and quantify the risks of future climate change scenarios on the flows in the Barwon River, under a ‘do nothing’ flows scenario and assess the impacts/benefits of potential water recovery on water quality and other flow-dependent values.
Part 2. Social and economic values of the Barwon River through Geelong and lower Moorabool River
An investigation and analysis of the social and economic values that are derived from the river’s ecosystem and natural capital.
The Victorian Government has provided $22 million over the next four years to implement Our Catchments, Our Communities, Victoria’s first state-wide Integrated Catchment Management Strategy. The Corangamite region has three on ground projects currently being delivered through the Our Catchments, Our Communities program.

A partnership between the Corangamite CMA, AgricultureVictoria, WestVic Dairy, and Landcare will lead the Sustainable Dairy Management Project to engage dairy communities to support whole of farm nutrient management in the Gellibrand and Curdies river catchments.
The project aims to deliver on-ground improvements to more than 20 farms that support a reduction in nutrient runoff and improved farm productivity through a combination of on farm extension works and a regenerative farming program.

This project promotes integrated catchment management in collaboration with a range of stakeholders and community Natural Resource Management groups.
The project has two components:

This project is delivering a number of on-farm pilot activities testing the viability and effectiveness of modernised on-farm water capture technologies to meet future farming need, and achieve improved water efficiency.
This project is in response to the need for more secure water flows to high-value environmental assets in the face of climate change. The project includes analysis of a range of water efficiency technologies and approaches to determine their viability in delivering on farm and catchment benefits.
