BARWON WALKING TRAIL PATH CLOSURES

The CCMA is currently undertaking pathway reconstruction works along the Barwon River through Geelong. This is targeting priority sections of the shared-use trail that are in poor condition and are in need of improvement after recent flooding events. Once the work is finished it will provide a great improvement to general access throughout the river reserves.

Over the next two months of January and February 2023 there will be temporary closures of sections of the pathway with no access permitted for short periods of time. It is advised that the public plan ahead and find another route for this period if required.

There are four separate areas that will be closed at various dates that are detailed below:

Area 1 – Riversdale Road Entrance

Closure from January 12^th to January 25^th 2023

Area 2 – Pakington Street Entrance

Closure from January 23^rd to February 13^th 2023

Area 3 – Shannon Avenue Underpass

Closure from January 30^th to February 13^th 2023

Area 4 – Belmont Common

Closure from February 7^th to February 28^th 2023
