PARTNERSHIP DELIVERING FOR ENVIRONMENT AND REGIONAL COMMUNITIES

Corangamite Catchment Management Authority (CMA) and Wannon Water have strengthened their long-standing partnership. A new partnership agreement recognises that both organisations have responsibility for managing elements of the water cycle and have interests in fostering strong, healthy communities.

On Wednesday 29^th April 2026, the Chairs of the two organisations came together to sign the formal partnership agreement, reaffirming their commitment to deliver stronger outcomes for the environment and communities in South West Victoria.

The two organisations last formalised their collaboration in 2021. The partnership has continued to grow since then, delivering shared benefits for waterway health, communities and integrated catchment management. Both organisations have identified their shared interests in sustainable water management, climate change impact mitigation, and supporting communities to connect with and care for their local waterways.

The partnership agreement outlines two priorities,

• To improve the long-term health and resilience of the Gellibrand River and
• To enhance regional water literacy

In addition, Wannon Water and Corangamite CMA will continue to work together to support net zero goals, waterway management and community engagement.
