Otway Agroforestry Network Education Program - Master TreeGrower Course

Agroforestry and the strategic management of trees on farms and rural properties contribute to a diverse and resilient catchment while also benefiting the economic, environmental and social values of our region.

The Otway Agroforestry Network (OAN) will be supported to deliver a series of workshops and engagement events including:

• • Master TreeGrower courses
    - Southern Otways course currently underway.
    - Ballarat region coming in 2027 - contact info@ccma.vic.gov.au

• • One-on-one mentoring property visits

• • Assisting landholders to develop Agroforestry farm plans

• • Field days and farm walks

OAN is a community group that focuses on planting trees for multiple outcomes such as shelter, conservation, profit and carbon.

Diverse Farms Resilient Catchments

The Otway Agroforestry Network Education Program is made possible thanks to Corangamite CMA's Diverse Farms Resilient Catchments project, which is supported by the Australian Government through funding from the Natural Heritage Trust under the Climate-Smart Agriculture Program.

The Diverse Farms Resilient Catchments project is a series of tailored education programs running from 2024 to 2028 that support farmers to increase their biological diversity and resilience on farms, in communities and across the landscape.

Catering for a range of audiences including dairy, mixed farming, livestock, broadacre cropping and artisan producers, other DFRC programs include Sustainable Dairies workshops and engagement events, Southern Farming Systems climate smart farming events, on-farm demonstrations and Landcare innovation and exchange events.
