CORANGAMITE CMA ENGAGE WITH ORANGE-BELLIED PARROT ENTHUSIASTS

Apr 12, 2022Biodiversity, Community Events

On Monday 11th of April, the Corangamite Catchment Management Authority hosted over 20 community members at the Barwon Heads Golf Club for an ‘Orange-bellied Parrot Walk and Talk’ event.

The event consisted of presentations from our two fantastic guest speakers, Craig Morley, Co-ordinator of the Orange-bellied Parrot Bellarine Peninsula Regional Group and Sarah Agterhius, Project Officer for the Orange-bellied Parrot Mainland Release Trial.

Corangamite CMA Project Officer Angus Donaldson led the group on a short walk amongst the Saltmarsh, a critical habitat for the Orange-bellied Parrot.

The Corangamite CMA hope the event was informative and engaging. For those who missed out on this event, keep your eyes peeled. Future events will be coming soon.

This project is supported by the CCMA through funding from the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program and will run until 2023.
