Important notice – Barwon through Geelong precinct

The Corangamite Catchment Management Authority manages a 20-kilometre stretch of the Barwon River through Geelong, including river reserves from Queens Park bridge to the lower breakwater upstream of Lake Connewarre.

On Monday 30 March the Premier Daniel Andrews declared Stage 3 restrictions in Victoria to combat the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Under Stage 3 restrictions gatherings are restricted to no more than 2 people except for members of your immediate household and for work or education.

The Stage 3 restrictions will come into effect from 11:59pm Monday 30 March 2020 and will be in place for 4 weeks and reviewed as required.

Users of the Barwon through Geelong precinct are required to abide by all Victorian Government directions regarding COVID-19.

If people breach these directions, they face on-the-spot fines of $1,652 for individuals and $9,913 for businesses. Larger fines can also be issued through the courts.
