Barwon through Geelong

The Barwon through Geelong Management Plan sets out priorities for developing and protecting the river’s environmental and cultural values and improving its recreation areas.

Barwon River user groups and community members worked with Corangamite CMA, project leaders, local and state government agencies to develop the plan that replaces an existing land management plan developed in 1996.

Plans for the river include undertaking major revegetation programs to create continuous woodland corridors, upgrading walking paths and picnic areas and improving stormwater treatment.
